Inver Models was commissioned to produce a landscape model of an island, or rather an archipelago of islands just off Scotland’s West Coast. Made from PU foam and hand finished, textured and painted, the sea around the Treshnish Isles was produced by combining paint and lacquer on a clear perspex sheet. Landscape models and stepped contour models can be machined using OS data as the basis and, as was the case with this model, supplemented with visual information from photos where the available data is not sufficiently detailed.
