Having been unable to find a model-maker in Sheffield who was able to supply a suitable marketing model, Taylor Wimpey commissioned us for this unusual project. One of the planning conditions for a new housing development was that an existing farm and barns be renovated. Taylor Wimpey saved the brick vent features (which typify buildings of a particular era in the Sheffield area) introduced bat habitats and developed the barns courtyard area with stunning curved brick walls. The scale model is at 1:50 scale – a scale we particularly like – and we were able to replicate all the brick headers, the blue-brick initialling on the gable end and various other lovely architectural features. Planting and animation at this scale has a good level of detail and brick & tile colours can be accurately matched. As with this project, Inver Models supplies scale models over the whole of the UK.
